Martin M. Gerena

Martin M. Gerena, 34, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013. Born in New Britain, he was a life-long resident. He was a graduate of E.C. Goodwin Technical School and was employed at Idex Health and Science in Bristol. Martin was a member of the New Britain Puerto Rican Society and was a New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed motorcycles and action cartoons. Surviving are his loving parents, Pedro and Candida (Martinez) Gerena; his daughter, Desiree Gerena; two sisters, Jacqueline Gerena and Madelyne Gerena; four nieces; one nephew; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and many loving friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 7-9 PM.
