Marta M. Rodriguez, 62, of New Britain, beloved wife of Luis Rodriguez, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2005 at UCONN Health Center. Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Quiterio and Elena Rodriguez. She was a New Britain resident for the past 40 years and devoted her life to her family, her church, and activities in the Spanish Community. Marta was a member of St. Mary Church where she served as an event coordinator. She was a founder of the Puerto Rican Festival and was a member of the Spanish Society. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband Luis Rodriguez, she is survived by four sons, Pedro E. Brito and his wife Madeline Delgado of New Britain, Rodrigo Brito of Buffalo, NY, Antonio Torres and his wife Kathy Norman of New Britain, and Edwin Torres-Rodriguez and his wife Ileana Torres of Bristol; a daughter Martha I. Lebron and her husband Jorge L. Huertas of New Haven; a brother, Jorge L. Rodriguez of NY; three sisters, Dominga Hernandez of FL, Gertrudis Lebron and Inez M. Rodriguez, both of Puerto Rico: seven grandchildren, Jerien M. Lebron, Felisha I. Huertas, Telicia Torres, Anthony J. Torres, Candice Torres, Brianna Torres, and Matthew Torres; and two great-grandchildren, Anasia J. Lujan, and Eric W. Henriquez. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday and Monday from 6-9 PM at the funeral home.
