Markus Andrew Salinas

Markus Andrew Salinas, 27, of New Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 15, 2025.  He was born in Bristol on October 2, 1997, and was the son of George Salinas and Kimberly Sadecki. Markus was a proud and dedicated union ironworker; he was a member of Iron Workers Union Local 424 out of New Haven. Markus had recently completed his four-year apprenticeship and graduated with his class — a milestone he was incredibly proud of.

Markus was passionate about working with his hands and could fix just about anything, often with little more than determination and a few tools. He especially loved working on and riding his Harley-Davidson, and earlier in life, found joy in restoring and driving Volkswagen cars.

Known by all as the life of the party, Markus had a magnetic personality that drew people in. His kindness, quick wit, and infectious laugh lit up every room he entered. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, and he built a wide circle of friends through his many hobbies and his warm, open heart.

Markus is survived by his loving parents, George and Kimberly, his long-time girlfriend Lindsay Nichols, and his three brothers: Jeremy Salinas, Jakob Salinas, and Nikolas Salinas. He was predeceased by his brother, Matthew Sadecki. He also leaves behind his cherished dogs, Bleu and Delilah. Markus will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 4-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain.
