Marilyn C. Seifel, 73, of Cromwell, formerly of Avon and Wethersfield, passed away peacefully at Middlesex Hospital on April 15, 2006. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Donald R. Seifel Sr. Born April 17, 1932, in New Britain, CT, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Carlson. Marilyn was a graduate of Berlin High School, Class of 1950 and Bay Path College, Class of 1952. She was employed as a medical secretary at Grove Hill Clinic, New Britain, CT and as a secretary at various departments at the University of Connecticut. She later served as Corporate Secretary of Plastic Engineering & Mfg. Co. in New Britain, CT which she co-founded with her husband and faithfully served for 24 years. She was quite active and enthusiastically served the churches she attended throughout her life: Bethany Covenant, Wethersfield Community, and Valley Community Baptist Church. Marilyn's greatest joy was being a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband Don, she is survived by her three children and six grandchildren who will cherish her forever: her son Donald Seifel Jr. and wife, Deneen of Canton, daughter Lori Dinkler and husband Lawrence of Farmington, and daughter Lynn Kaufman and husband Robert of Farmington. Her six beloved grandchildren are: Kirstin Coffman and husband Adam, Karl Dinkler, Kristen and Megan Nielsen, and Kenneth and Kevin Kaufman. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill St., Berlin. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 17 from 4-8 p.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St. New Britain. A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Bethany Covenant Church, Berlin, Valley Community Baptist Church, Avon, or Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, 223 North Lime Street, Lancaster, PA 17602.
