Marie Martha Albert

Marie Martha (Sitz) Albert, 91, of New Britain, widow of Donald F. Albert, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Stephan and Emilie (Manke) Sitz. She was a life-long New Britain resident and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Marie took pride in the work she did for Peter Paul Electronics for nearly 40 years. Marie's family was her whole world. Surviving are a daughter, Diane M. Albert of West Hartford and her spouse, Char Wilkins; a son, Donald F. Albert, Jr. of Higganum and spouse, Dorothy (Corona); two grandchildren, Jonathan Albert and wife Colleen, Christopher Albert and wife Lisa Doncet; and four great-grandchildren, Christian Albert, Jackson Albert, Joseph Albert, and Jonathan Albert. Marie's family would like to thank Dr. Kowalska and Dr. Berger and their staff for the respectful and dignified care given to Marie; Kathy and Teri at Columbus Blvd, CVS for their friendship and support over the years; Pastor Meleschnig and Bill Huber from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church for their prayers and comforting visits; John of Community Support Services at the New Britain Senior Center for his guidance; VNA Hospice for easing the final weeks and helping to make it possible for Marie to leave this life in her home where she was born 91 years ago. The family would like to express their boundless gratitude to three very special young women, Lira, Aika, and Anna for the love and compassion with which they cared for Marie. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 am at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. A calling hour will be Saturday morning from 10 to 11 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
