Marianna S. Morga

Marianna Morga, 91, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the widow of Alfred Morga.

Born in Krasnystaw, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Andrzej and Sophia (Czaplinska) Potap.  She was a New Britain resident for over 50 years and was formerly employed at Atlantic Tool and Emhart Industries.  She later worked at Ledgecreast Convalescent Home for 18 years, before retiring.  She was a member of St. Joseph Church.

Surviving are two sons, Edmond Kopinja and his wife Jadwiga of Bristol, Michael Kopinja and his wife Marylou of Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters, Monique Theriault of Forestville and Therese Ortola and her husband Henry of Berlin; five grandchildren, Danielle Messier, Johnny Kopinja, Jeannette Broyles, Susan Woike, and Jennifer Kopinja; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Owen, Anya, Alina, Lilly, Vanessa and Joseph; and her sister and her best friend, Jeanne Zbrozek of New Britain.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Franczisek and Stanislaw, and by a sister, Genoweta.  The family would like to thank Marianna’s caregiver, Ela, for her many years of loving care.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
