Maria Torres

Maria Torres, 80, of New Britain, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Complete Care in Meriden.

Born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Santos Rodriguez. Maria was a New Britain resident most of her life and was formerly employed at New Britain General Hospital. She was a member of the Christian Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are two sons, Caleb P. Irizarry and his wife Susan Miller, and Alex Irizarry; two sisters, Neireda Rodriguez and Elba Rodriguez; a brother, Papo Rodriguez; her sisters-in-law, Vida, Gloria, Guita, and Betsy; five grandchildren, Michael Irizarry, Brittany Irizarry, Skylar Irizarry, Matthew Irizarry, and Timothy Little; and two great-grandchildren, Serenity Hathaway and Jurnee Flowers.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 6-8 PM and Friday from 10 AM to 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
