Maria Angela Robles

Maria Angela Robles, 79, of New Britain, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. She was the widow of Mario Robles. Born in Puerto Rico, she was a New Britain resident for the past 46 years and was formerly employed as a dietician at Walnut Hill Convalescent Home. Maria was a devoted member of St. Mary Church in New Britain where she was a member of the Sacred Heart Society, and St. Vincent DePaul. She was an active member of the Spanish Senior Citizens. Surviving are nine children and their spouses, Jose Emilio and Nilda Rosado, Angela Rivera, Francisco and Hilda Rosado, Milly and Richard Herrera, Migdalia and Jose Muniz, Antonio Rosado, Maria and Roberto Vargas, Mario and Mercedes Robles, and Angel and Johanna Robles; a brother, Salvador Escobales; 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday At 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. The family and friends are invited to St. Mary Church Hall following the graveside service. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-9 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
