Maria A. Lanza

Maria A. (Gionfriddo) Lanza, 96, beloved wife of Sebastian Lanza, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023.

Born in New Britain on March 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angela (Cultrera) Gionfriddo.  Maria was a lifelong New Britain resident and was formerly employed at Emhart, before retiring in 1985.  She was a member of St. Ann Church.  She enjoyed baking, knitting, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Sebastian Lanza; her son, James Lanza; her daughter, Diane Wagner and her husband Philip of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  The Lanza family would like to thank Autumn Lake Healthcare in New Britain for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of the service.
