Maria Irizarry

Maria Irizarry, 87, of New Britain, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain. Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Miguel Gonzalez and Maria Infantes. Maria has been a resident of New Britain since 1970 and was a member of the Christian Pentecostal Church. Maria is survived by her husband Graceliano Irizarry of New Britain; four sons, Wilfredo, Prudencio, Heriberto, and Abraham all of New Britain; four daughters, Gloria Rosado and Vidalina Irizarry of New Britain, and Widillia Nieves and Betzaida Buitrago of Rhode Island; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, a great great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Amelia Gonzalez of Newington and Candida Gonzalez of New Jersey. She was predeceased by a daughter, Maria Perez. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Pentecostal Church, 119 West Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the church. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
