Maria Flores

Maria Flores, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Maria was born in San German, Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Alfonso Cancel and Francisca Justiniano.  She was a resident of Plainville for over 30 years and also lived in New Britain over 30 years.  She was a member of St. Joachim Parish, St. Mary Church in New Britain.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond Castro and his wife Leyda Castro, and Edwin Castro; three daughters, Rita Saavedra and her husband Alberto Saavedra, Margarita Castro and Lisa Castro; her siblings, Justa R. Lebron and Jose Cancel; seven grandchildren, and twenty two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melva Castro; four sisters, Candida Llantin, Marina Llantin, Irene Justiniano, and Maria R. Pabon; and by two brothers, Ramon Cancel and Luis Cancel.

Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9-11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family requests that facemasks be worn.
