Maria G. Cancel

Maria G. Cancel, 89, of New Britain, and formerly of San German, PR, widow of Hector Cancel, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Born in San German, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Juan Jimenez and Maria Santana. Maria was a faithful member of St. Joachim Parish, St. Mary Church.

Surviving are two children, Ada Candelaria and Deny “Ocean” Cancel; and four grandchildren, Naomi Candelaria, Clarissa Candelaria, Lisa Marie Cancel and Ohn Cancel.

Calling hours are Thursday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
