Margaret Mary Ahern Vaillancourt of New Britain, passed away peacefully in the arms of her family on August 19, 2010. She is the beloved wife of Zenon Vaillancourt and is survived by her four children Claudette and her husband William Turgeon, Patricia and her husband William DiLuzio, Susan and her husband Roger Greco, and Wayne Vaillancourt and his wife Dawn. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Palys. She is predeceased by her brothers Lambert Ahern, Robert Ahern and Daniel Ahern. Margaret was loved dearly by all of her grandchildren: Beth Turgeon, William Turgeon, Jr., Katie Turgeon, Peggy Loehr, Bryan DiLuzio, Paige Crosby, Joshua Greco, Tyler Greco, Molly Greco, Brooke Vaillancourt, Megan Vaillancourt, Thomas Vaillancourt, Jenna Vaillancourt, and her six great grandchildren. Margaret volunteered her time for many years with the New Britain Chapter of The American Red Cross and was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award. She dedicated her time to visiting people without families in the Friendly Visitor Program. She was a devoted Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in New Britain, CT where she spent many years instructing children in the CCD program. Margaret also had many good times square dancing with her husband Zenon and friends with the Bucks and Does club. Calling hours are on Saturday August 21, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 195 South Main St., New Britain, CT. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
