Margaret Rose Blankenburg

Margaret Rose Blankenburg, 102, of Plainville, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at Ledgecrest Nursing Center. She was the widow of Emil Blankenburg. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Flanagan Slaney. She was a former New Britain resident and a Plainville resident for over 30 years. She was formerly employed at Brown Thompson in Hartford and prior to that was employed at The Fair in New Britain. She was a 75 year member of South Congregational Church in New Britain. Up until the time of her death, she was the oldest living orphan from Klingberg Family Centers. Surviving are two sons, Robert E. Blankenburg of Plainville and Alan R. Blankenburg of Berlin; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceasd by a son Richard Blankenburg, and by a grandson, Richard J. Blankenburg. Funeral services will be held on Monday 9:15 AM Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home 411 S. Main St. New Britain and at 10:00 AM at the Erwin Chapel at South Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are Sunday from 6-9 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Klingberg Family Center, 370 Linwood St., New Britain, CT 06052.
