Maija Santaniello

Maija Santaniello, 84, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024 at Amberwoods of Farmington.  Born in Riga, Latvia, Maija was the daughter of the late Valdis Abols and Marta Kronbergs.

Maija was a longtime New Britain resident and was formerly employed as an administrative assistant for the State of Connecticut. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Neil Santaniello, as well her brothers, Eric and Val Abols. She is survived by her sons; Derek Cabral and his wife Tracey of Tolland, and Joel Cabral and his wife Linda of Newington; and three grandchildren; Hunter Cabral, Alexandra Cabral, and Nicholas Cabral.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 4 – 6 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111.
