Madeline (Conti) Lugli, 86, of New Britain, beloved wife of Wallace J. Lugli, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Natale and Anna (DiPinto) Conti. Madeline has been a lifelong New Britain resident. After staying at home to raise her children, she worked for many years at D & L along with her sisters. Madeline was a member of St. Ann's Church and the Ladies Guild at St. Ann's. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Madeline loved spending time and traveling with her grandchildren and family. She was also a devoted Red Sox and UCONN Women's Basketball fan. Madeline is survived her husband, Wallace J. Lugli; her son Wallace P. Lugli of New Hartford; her daughter Susan A. Lugli of Newington and South Portland, ME; three grandchildren, Casey, Kara and Eric; her sister Eleanor Shaw of New Britain; her special friend Leslie Cummings; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Katherine Shumsky. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:30 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Ann's Church, New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
