Luisa Vento

Luisa (Simeone) Vento, of New Britain entered into eternal rest at home peacefully on May 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 21, 1928 in New Britain, was raised in Spigno Saturnia, Italy.  She married Aurelio, on October 24, 1945, and they returned to Connecticut to start a new life and raise a family.

She is survived by four children, Rita Rosiek and her husband Danny of Westbrook, Henry Vincent Vento of Niantic, Anna Fahy and her husband Dan of Wellington, FL and Joanne Vento of New Britain.  Four grandchildren, Danielle Fahy, Marisa Fahy,  Nate Rosiek and Nola Rosiek. Two great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Sylvia Vento of East Berlin and Vincenza Ciampi of New Britain, as well as a brother, Damien Simeone of California and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her passion for cooking led to a lifetime of mastering many Italian dishes, with many ingredients coming from her large garden. Her joys in life came from raising her family. She loved to volunteer locally with children and the elderly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, St. Maurice Church in New Britain.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Calling hours are Wednesday morning from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required.
