Luis M. Torres

Luis M. Torres, 76, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023 at the West Haven Veteran’s Hospital.  He was the husband of Matty Torres.

Born in Lajas, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Ramon Torres and Maria Lugo.  Luis was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.  He was formerly employed at Pratt & Whitney before retiring.  Luis attended St. Mary Church, St. Joachim Parish.

Surviving are his wife, Matty (Taveras) Torres; a son, Justin Torres; a daughter, Maria Oquendo; Daughter-in-law Isabel Torres; and step-daughters, Zuly De Rudesindo and Anniry Taveras. Followed by the grandkids, Jordan Torres, Jaecey Torres, Caedey Torres, Justin Torres Jr., Eliezer Hernandez, Zoeliz Rudesindo, Isabella Rudesindo, Zaydden Rodriguez, Hailey Rivera and Julius Ayala. His sisters; Judy Morales, Maria Rivera and brother Samuel Torres.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM and Friday from 11 AM to 12 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  A funeral service will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
