Lucille P. Carlson, 80, of Cromwell, beloved wife of Roger W. Carlson, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 surrounded by her family. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Ida Phillips Plitt. Lucille was a long time Kensington resident before moving to Cromwell in 1991. She was formerly employed as a secretary at McGee Middle School in Berlin and was also previously employed at Russell & Erwin as well as The Stanley Works. Lucille was a member of Bethany Covenant Church. Within the church, she was a member of Covenant Women, Missionary Sewing, a trailblazer counselor and a former member of the Sanctuary Choir. She formerly served as a Brownie Troop Leader and was a member of the Berlin School System Clerks Association. Lucille enjoyed volunteering as the Librarian at Griswold School for many years. In addition to her husband Roger, she is survived by a daughter, Gale C. Hall and her husband Jay of Loudon, NH; a son, Philip A. Carlson and his wife Paula of Brunswick, GA; a sister Irma Brandt of Mystic; a brother, Robert Plitt of Eastham, MA; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kathryn and Spencer Davis, Christopher Carlson, Jimmy and Rebekah Ollari; and a great-grandson, James Robert Ollari. She was predeceased by three sisters, Verna Vickavick, Shirley Gut, and Edith Favreau, and by a brother, Mahlon Sabo. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill St., Berlin. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Wethersfield Village Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the CVOC Benevolent Care Fund, 52 Missionary Rd., Cromwell, CT 06416.
