Lori Nichols Fongemie, 46, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday. She was the beloved wife of Roy Fongemie. Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of Clifton Nichols and the late Virginia Hughes. Lori has been a long time New Britain resident coming from Meriden over 30 years ago. She worked as a waitress at Miss Washington Diner in New Britain for over 20 years, where for the last several years her daughter Danielle has worked with her. Friends will not only remember Lori for her big heart, but how she always put everyone ahead of herself. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, Kayleb and Tyler. In addition to her husband and her father, Lori is survived by her son Douglas Fongemie of New Britain, her daughter Danielle Fongemie and her companion Marvin Jimenez of New Britain, her brother Thomas Nichols and his wife Sandra of Andover, her sister Tammy Fields and her husband Scott of Plant City, FL, her grandsons Kayleb and Tyler, her step mother Lois Nichols of Meriden, two nephews Jarred Fields and Jake Nichols, two nieces Kylie and Tamer Nichols, her step brothers, Troy Schmelter of Meriden, Keith Schmelter and his wife Julie of Meriden, a step sister Valerie Roy and her husband Dana of Southington. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 12:00 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
