Loraine Diane Burkhart

Loraine D. (Patrick) Burkhart, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.  She was predecased by her husband, Ernie Burkhart.

Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Jeanette (Lemieux) Patrick.  Loraine was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a long time New Britain resident before moving to Southington.  She was formerly employed at the Stanley Works before retiring.

Loraine loved her daughters, sons-in-law,  granddaughters and their husbands, and great-grandchildren with unconditional love.  She enjoyed helping others, going to bingo, trips to the ocean, and spending time with her family and friends.  She was an avid reader.  Loraine was a true animal lover and advocate in her support of animal shelters.   She was passionate about her service to her country, the military, and those who serve today.

Surviving are her daughters, Shawana (David) Rivero of Southington, Kellee (Robert) Raymond of Las Vegas, NV; her grandchildren, Brooke (Sean) Lordan of Grafton, MA, Amanda (Brett) Abram of Benton, LA, Brittany (Steve) Czerniewski of Wallingford, and Brynne (Kyle) Bastion of Shreveport, LA; eight great-grandchildren, Kendyll, Noah, Noelle, Chloe, Landon, Jolie, Luke, and Mila; her cat Simon; and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 AM at St. Paul Church in Kensington.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.  There are no calling hours.
