Linda Freese Braun, 67, wife of William Braun, died peacefully at her Burlington, CT, home, Saturday, March 9th. Linda, the daughter of Ingeborg and Henry Freese, grew up in Newington, CT. She earned her Baccalaureate at CCSU, and completed graduate work at SCSU and University of Hartford in Art. She was an outstanding Art Teacher for the town of Plainville for 37 years. Linda was dedicated to each student achieving their best, while learning new ways of seeing the world. You did not have to become an artist, just reach out, try something new and enjoy the process. She worked her magic on all the family, sharing ideas and skills with her sister, Lois Serafino, her brother Steven Freese and his wife Patty, and her brother in laws: Carl Braun and his wife Barbara, and James Braun and his wife Joyce. She especially enjoyed corrupting her nieces and nephews, and their children, introducing them to new materials and approaches to art. She had the greatest influence, mentoring, training and sharing life with her husband of 43 years. An avid collector of art and fine craft, she joined the artist community and created landscapes and other images, from small chips of glass. Her work was accepted and sold via local galleries. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday May 18, 2013 at 1:00 pm at her home, where family and friends can share her love of gardening and art.
