Leona Wallace

Leona Wallace, of Kensington, wife of Walter Wallace, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Aurora Senior Living in Cromwell after a long illness. Born in New Britain on June 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Snetro and Katherine (Kukuck) Snetro. Leona was a former New Britain resident and a resident of Kensington for over 30 years. She was formerly employed at North and Judd and also served as a teachers aid in the Berlin School system. She was a member of St. Paul Church. Leona was an avid bowler and enjoyed her many athletic accomplishments in High School. Surviving are her husband, Walter Wallace; a daughter, Pamela (Wallace) Cavallaro and her husband Christopher of Clinton; a son, Stephen Wallace and his wife Cynthia of West Woodstock; a brother, Charles A. Snetro of Kensington; two grandchildren, Alexa Wallace and Vanessa Wallace; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in South Burying Ground, Kensington. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
