Leo (Lionel) J. Paradis, 70, of New Britain, beloved dad, brother, and grandfather, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 surrounded by his loving family at Amberwoods of Farmington after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Ft. Kent, Maine on Sept. 20, 1940 and was the son of the late Felix and Hatti Paradis. He later moved to New Britain. He retired from Amodio Moving Company after 35 years of service. Leo enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed camping, being with family, friends, and his dog. Dad, you are loved and will be sadly missed. Leo is survived by four children, Donna (Paradis) Marckese and her husband Matt of Delaware, Leo Paradis Jr. and his wife Tessy of Bristol, Clifford and his wife Casia of North Carolina, and Jason Paradis of New Mexico. He also leaves eight brothers, Alva, Gilman, James, Lucien, Felix, Jr., Victor, Edgar, and Norman; two sisters, Theresa Tilley and Doris Paradis; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Roland, and by a sister Renette Cyr. The family would like to thank Jackie and Karen along with Millie Sanchez and her granddaughter Jackie, Supervisor Elaine, and all the people at Amberwoods of Farmington for their loving care given to Leo. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain followed by ad Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
