Lawrence A. "Larry" Murray, 61, of East Berlin, beloved husband of Lola Messenger Murray, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 28, 2005. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret Anderson Murray. He was a former New Britain resident and a resident of East Berlin since 1997. Larry was formerly employed as Vice President of Operations at Conn. Bank and Trust and Fleet Bank now Bank of America before retiring in 1993. He was a member of Kensington Congregational Church and was a former President of the Stony Mill Condominium Association. Larry's interest centered around his wife and extended family, golfing, fishing and his banking career. He was a member and past president of the Timberlin Men's Club and served as treasurer of the Dr. Kiniry Scholarship Fund many years. He enjoyed their many trips to Bermuda, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Cape Cod. In addition to his wife Lola, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Lois Messenger of Granby; sisters and brothers-in law, nephews, a brother, Douglas Murray; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Kensington Congregational Church. Burial will be held privately in Granby Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Kensington Congregational Church, 312 Percival Ave. Kensington, 06037.
