Laurent ''Bill'' Lamb, 74, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at New Britain General Hospital on Monday, October 7, 2002. He was the beloved husband of Lucy Martineau Lamb. Born in Biddeford, Maine he was the son of the late Leon Lamb, Sr. and Sarah Healy Lamb. Raised in Maine Bill has been a New Britain resident since 1957. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Jerome Church and the St. Jean Baptiste Societe. He worked for many years at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Newington. Bill was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed many family vacations in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He attended and enjoyed many sporting events for his children and grandchildren. His sense of humor will be dearly missed by his family. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas A. and Patricia Lamb of Newington, John W. and Wendy Lamb of Wethersfield, two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy L. and Thomas Pilarski of New Britain, Patti-Jean and William Majewicz of Berlin, four grandchildren, Jason, Courtney, and Gavin Lamb and Katie Majewicz, a brother Carlton Lamb of Biddeford, ME, three sisters, Helen Lauzier and Mildred Ribaudo, both of Biddeford, ME, and Barbara Moran of Scarborough, ME, along with several nieces and nephews, and two good friends, Peter and Lorraine Vereneau. He was predeceased by a brother Leon Lamb, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2002, at 9:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Jerome Church. Burial with full military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
