Kurt Walter

Kurt Walter, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.   He was the one and only for over 61 years for his wife, Gerhild Walter.

Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Gert-Paul and wife Kathy of Massachusetts,  their children Christopher and wife Clara of Maryland, Andrew and fiancee Jen of Maine, and Katelynn of Canada; Denis of Connecticut and his children Samantha and Max; Audrey and husband Dan of Oregon.

Kurt was born in Germany and immigrated to the U.S. in March, 1957.  He worked as a mechanical engineer and owned Manchester Tool and Design until he retired in 1997.  He loved traveling, classical music, ballet, the outdoors, golf, and challenging chess matches until shortly before he died.  He was a long time member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Arch St. in New Britain

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St., New Britain.  Committal services will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 160 Garden St., Farmington.  A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM at church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
