Kathryn "Kay" Lavette

Kathryn “Kay” (Reney) LaVette passed away after a brief illness on December 20, 2022.  Kay was born in New Britain, CT on June 6, 1932, the daughter of the late TJ and Anna (Colaresi) Reney. She married the late Henry F. LaVette, Jr. and they raised their family and remained in New Britain until they both retired from UTC, wintering in Lake Worth, Florida, and summering in Berlin, CT and Becket, MA. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brother Richard Reney.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Patricia) LaVette of Old Lyme, and Henry, III (Michelle) LaVette  of Berlin. Her daughters, Ann (Donald) Tuleja of Becket, MA and Noreen (Rose Shores) LaVette of South Windsor; her grandchildren, Kyle and Justin (Nicole) LaVette, Luke (Stephanie) and Adam (Shaina) Tuleja, Amanda (Hakim) Martin and Katelyn LaVette; her Great-Grands, Amelia, Natalia, Hudson, Zoe, Treyson, Madison, Sky and Jacob; and her sister in law, Susan Reney.

Guests are asked to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at St. Paul Church, Alling St., Kensington, CT.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours.  Donations may be made to Friends of Dana-Farber, 450 Brookline Ave., SW120, Boston, MA 02215.  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
