Kathleen A. Lamkins

Kathleen A. Lamkins, 71, of Berlin, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018, at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain, after her 18 month battle with cancer.  She was the wife of Kenneth Lamkins, with whom she was about to celebrate 50 years of marriage on June 22, 2018.

Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Danko) Zarotney.  Kathleen was raised in Berlin, CT.  She moved to Southington and resided there for almost 30 years before moving back to Berlin.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin.  Kathleen was a founding member of St. Dominic’s Church in Southington, and was proud to be the parent of the first child baptized at the church.  At St. Dominic’s Church, she served on the Parish Council and was a kitchen volunteer at bingo.

Kathleen loved the beach; she enjoyed boating, swimming, and flower gardening.  She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing tennis with family and friends.

In addition to her husband Kenneth, she is survived by four children, Karrie Morin and her fiancé Lucian Zocco, Kandi Della Bella and her husband Peter, Ken Lamkins, and Kevin Lamkins and his wife Carolyn Young.  Also surviving are a brother, Lawrence Zarotney and his wife Ann; three grandchildren, Zachary, Stephanie, and John; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Zarotney.
