Kathleen Marie Kruk

Kathleen Marie Kruk (Garuti), aged 69, of Plainville, Connecticut, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, following a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband of 18 years, Richard Kruk, as well as her first husband, John Garuti of 28 years. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Chantel Birlet, and her brother, John Tomcic.

Kathleen was born in Pennsylvania to the late John and Yvonne Tomcic and moved to New Britain at a young age. She had a passion for cooking and baking, often delighting her family with delicious meals. For over 15 years, Kathleen worked at Grove Hill Medical Center in New Britain. After retiring, she cherished spending quality time with her three grandchildren: Mia, Giana, and Kevin.

Kathleen is survived by her sons, John Walter Garuti and his wife, Kristina and Thomas Anthony Garuti and his wife, Concetta, 3 grandchildren, Mia, Giana and Kevin Garuti. Kathleen is also survived by her sister, Nadia Krenzel, and husband, Wayne, of Oregon, her brother Richard Tomcic, and his wife, Denise, of New Britain. Kathleen also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen was a kind soul and will be cherished by all that knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 9:30 AM Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Ann Church, St. Joachim Parish, 101 North St., New Britain. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 5 – 7 PM at the funeral home.
