Kathleen Joyce Kopycinski

Kathleen Joyce Kopycinski, 76, of New Britain, wife of Raymond Kopycinski, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Toney Herman and Florence (Murawski) Herman.  She was a lifelong New Britain resident and was a graduate of New Britain High School.  Kathleen was a avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.   When it came to her illness, she was a fighter who never gave up and never complained.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond Kopycinski; three children, Gary Kopycinski and his wife Margie, Lisa Vignone, and Craig Kopycinski;  a brother, Donald Herman and his wife Maryanne; a sister, Susan Herman; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Robin and Rachael Daniels, Anthony and Courtney Kopycinski, Michael Nicolas and Matthew Vignone; and a close family friend, Peter Kummer.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Kopycinski, her son-in-law, Nick Vignone, and by her sister, Patricia Herman.  The family would like to thank her oncologist, Dr. Brian Brynes for his excellent care.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-6 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Social distancing and masks will be required.
