Kathleen Gustavson

Kathleen (Kathy) Gustavson (Linn), 73, left this earth to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  Kathy was born December 17, 1947, in New Britain, Connecticut.  She was the daughter to the late Barbara P. Linn, of Vernon, Connecticut and Edward F. Linn, of Rocky Hill, Connecticut.  She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in New Britain as a child.  Her family later moved to Newington where she was a graduate of Newington High School.  In later years, she was also a resident of Plainville and Bristol.

Kathy is survived by her 2 children, Steven Gustavson and Dana Nova Darko, both of Middletown, Connecticut.  She is also survived by 4 sisters, Elizabeth Linn Del Guidice, of Enfield, Connecticut, Meaghan Grasso, of Ledyard, Connecticut, Leslie Linn, of Stafford Springs, Connecticut and Virginia Linn Valentin of New Britain, Connecticut.

Kathy’s smile lit up a room and her “Irish eyes” always smiled with her and her laugh was infectious.  A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, majoring in art, she created many beautiful oil paintings and drawings.  For those who knew her, her personal signature always included a daisy for the “i” in Kathi as she would often sign her cards and letters.

Kathi’s cremated remains will lay at rest alongside her mother, Barbara P. Linn, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, in New Britain, Connecticut.

An angel has gotten her wings!  Mother, sister, friend…we will miss you every day, Kathy, your spirit lives on in us all!
