Katherine Ellen Wallace Stobierski

Katherine Ellen Wallace Stobierski, 77, of New Britain, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General. She was the widow of Joseph Walter Stobierski, Sr. Born in Elizabethtown, NY, she was the daughter of the late John H. Wallace and Gladys MacDougall Wallace. She was a former New York and Massachusetts resident, and a resident of Bristol for three years, before moving to New Britain in 1989. Katherine was well known in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York as a talented and accomplished artist. She was well versed in egg tempera, oil, watercolor, acrylic, and other types of painting. She exhibited her works in many art shows and exhibits throughout the region. Surviving are her son, Joseph Walter Stobierski, Jr. of New Britain; two sisters, Virginia Fish and her husband Orlie of Moriah, NY and Pauline Bezio of Lewis, NY; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, John Henry Wallace and James Frederick Wallace. Private funeral services and calling hours will be held at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery in South Deerfield, MA.
