Karen Lynn Williams, 42, of Raleigh, NC passed away Wednesday October 9, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family. Karen was born on May 27, 1971 in New Britain, CT. She was the daughter of George and Waltraud Streib of New Britain. She was a graduate of New Britain High School, Hartford State Tech, Clemson University and NC State University with a Bachelors of Architecture degree. Karen was an intern architect with Hazen and Sawyer Environmental Engineers and Scientists of Raleigh. Her loves were her children, baking and her dogs. She touched the lives of all that knew her with her contagious laughter and love of life. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her devoted husband Robert Williams and her children Kyle, Emily and Addison. Her sisters Linda and Robert Valentine of Jupiter, FL; Susan and James Briganti of Newington, CT; Lisa and Jack Ramsdell of Newington, CT; and Sandra and Donald Rooney of New Britain, CT; nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Alfred and Irene Jahn and her paternal grandmother Martha Streib. Funeral services were held October 13, at Highland Methodist Church and Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC. Burial will be held at the Fairview Cemetery (Section 8A) in New Britain on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. Use Smalley St. entrance near the chapel. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of interment arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Williams Children Fund at www.Gofundme.com.
