Karen Linda Camacho

Karen Linda Carlson Camacho, 66, of Simsbury, died June 22. She was the widow of Jess Camacho. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Amer and Edna Conrad Carlson and was a 1962 graduate of New Britain High School. Karen was a former resident of Pasadena, California and Kensington, CT before moving to Simsbury in 2008. Karen was employed as a hairdresser, and later as a receptionist for Dr. LeRoy Carlini and as a sales clerk and cashier at Sears and Target before retiring. She was a former member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in New Britain and more recently attended services at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Avon. Surviving are her son, Jarrod San Angel of Astoria, New York; her daughter, Jill White of Simsbury; her son-in-law, Jason White of Simsbury; a sister Joy Kasiski and brother-in-law Robert Kasiski of Kensington; two grandchildren, Madison and Brandon; and several nieces and nephews including Kenneth Manthey of Kensington. She was predeceased by a son, Nicholas Heath. Karen will be remembered fondly for her sparkling personality, remarkable memory, quick wit, and warm, amiable nature. She possessed great conversational skills and was noted for her ease with both friends and strangers alike. Karen was also a great lover of animals, movies, music, and non-fiction books, but her greatest joy was being with family and spending time with her two beloved grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends and family may gather Thursday, June 24, 10 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, with a funeral service to follow at 11 am. Burial will be in South Burying Ground, Kensington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made specifically for sarcoma research to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, P.O.
