Julia Rivera

Julia Rivera, 89, formerly of New Britain, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Water's Edge in Middletown. Born in Lajas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Reyes Rivera and Hinjina Flores. Julia was a former resident of New York before moving to New Britain in 1962. She was formerly employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was a member of the Christian Pentecostal Church in New Britain. Surviving are two daughters, Maria Gonzalez of New Britain and Nilda Lebron Rivera of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Marcos Rivera of New Britain; two sisters, Concepcion Torres of Deltona, FL and Rosa Almodovar of New Britain; four grandchildren, Jeanette Vigo, Cristine Mozaeko, Ivette Figueroa and Angel Colon Jr.; six great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson. The family would like to thank Julia's caregiver for the past 10 years, Zoila Rosario. Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 PM and Saturday from 10-11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
