Our beloved mother, Julia Margarite (Taricani) Ingenito, passed away on December 4, 2024 after a short illness. She was 95. Originally from Connecticut, Julia retired to Stuart, FL with her husband, the love of her life, Joseph Ingenito. Joseph currently resides in heaven, and is there to greet his wife of 73 years with a trumpet solo played just for her. Julia is finally "home", reunited with her parents, John and Imelda (Cote) Taricani, six siblings, and numerous dear family and friends.
She is survived by her three children, Cynthia Seale and partner Michael Kavanagh of Hobe Sound, FL; Joseph Ingenito and husband Miles Madison of Brussels, Belgium; Julie Coia and husband Michael Coia of Newington, CT; and three grandchildren, Collin Brennan, Mitchell Coia and Abigail Coia. Julia also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She loved her family and friends with an unending generosity.
Her home cooking was legendary and always the highlight of special occasions and holidays. Julia worked at the family business in New Britain, Ingenito Florist and Landscape Center, most of her adult life. She was known for creating beautiful, unique and custom floral arrangements. Over the years, Julia's designs graced countless weddings, and private and public functions. She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Ann's Church in New Britain and New Britain General Hospital (Hospital of Central Connecticut) for 30 years. Julia planned many fundraising functions for the church and hospital and was awarded the New Britain Columbus Award given to individuals who have shown outstanding community leadership. All who knew Julia were familiar with her sparkling personality, inside and out. If you are inclined, please feel free to wear something sparkly in her honor at the service. Julia's family would like to thank the staff, aides and nurses at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor for their kindness, compassion, and support.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 13th, 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in New Britain. Immediately following the Mass will be a graveside service held at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Britain, for both Julia and Joseph, whose final wish was to be buried together.
