Juan A. Ortiz

Juan A. Ortiz, 48, of New Britain, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of Juan Ortiz and Felicita Rivera.  Juan was a long time New Britain resident and was formerly employed at J&J Trucking Co.  He was a member of St. Mary Church.  Juan was an excellent auto mechanic, and worked on cars for family and friends.

Surviving are his father, Juan Ortiz, his mother, Felicita Rivera, his companion, Nilsa Candelaria, two sons, Juan A. Ortiz, Jr. and Christian O. Ortiz; two daughters, Marta Ortiz and Wanda Ortiz; three brothers, Elvin Ortiz, Juan Michael Ortiz, and Kelvin Candelaria; three sisters, Sonia Burgos, Luz Oquendo, Luzxiomara Candelaria; and four grandchildren, Sierranise Ortiz, Adriana Morales, Jacob Morales, and Liam Vargas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at First Church of Christ Congregational, 830 Corbin Ave., New Britain.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday morning from 8-10 AM at First Church of Christ Congregational.
