Joseph N. Theriault

Joseph N.  Theriault, 87, of New Britain, beloved husband of Janina (Biluszcak) Theriault of 23 years and the late Louise (Raynock) Theriault, passed away on August 29, 2017.

Joseph was born in Hartford, CT on May 20, 1930 and was the son of the late Joseph Napoleon Theriault and Rose (Legace) Theriault.  After serving in the Navy for 10 years Joseph and Louise settled in New Britain to raise their family.  Joseph’s favorite activities included fishing, long walks and spending time with his family, especially his grand children.  He also was an active member of Spartans Veterans AC for many years. The family would like to thank the staff of Ingraham Manor for their loving care of Papa Joe these past months.

Joseph is survived by his daughter Nancy Riley and husband DeWitt “Scott” A. Riley, III and their children Sarah and Steven; his son Bruce Theriault and his wife Lisa of West Hartford and their children Noah and Avery; his son Joseph “Joey” Theriault of Berlin; step-daughter Liz Crook and her husband Mark of Farmington and their children Brendan and Jeffrey; step-daughter Eva DeVito of Farmington.  In addition to his loving wife Louise of 33 years, Joseph was predeceased by his brother Joseph W. “Bill” Therriault, his sisters Marie Jeannette Philippon, Marie Florence Philippon and Germaine Mangiefico.

A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
