Joseph M. Stelmach

Joseph M. Stelmach, 89, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.  He was the husband of the late Maria W. (Szymonska) Stelmach.

Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Stanislaw and Stanislawa (Wysocka) Stelmach.  Joseph was a New Britain resident since 1963.  He was formerly employed at Atlantic Aerospace and later at Fafnir Bearing before retiring.

Surviving are a son, Artur Stelmach and his wife Tina of Colorado; four daughters, Joanna Gabin and her husband Albert of Florida, Maria Chylinski and her husband Stanislaw of Florida, Christine Sutton and her husband Stephan of New Britain and Maryland, Elizabeth Berger and her husband David of Kensington; a brother, Roman Stelmach; a daughter-in-law, Ida Stelmach; eleven grandchildren, Alanna, Jessica, David, Robert, Carisa, Andre, Darryl, Roman, Dallas, Adam, and Alec; two step-grandchildren, Jose and Paris; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife and parents, Joseph was predeceased by his beloved  son, Eric Stelmach, and by three brothers, Stanislaw (Waldek), Ryszard, and Mieczyszlaw.  Joseph loved dogs, especially the two he just left behind, Kajtek and Mishu.
