Joseph P. Shemansky

Joseph P. Shemansky, of New Britain, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at his home.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Saks) Shemansky.  He was born in New Britain on May 20, 1957 and he attended local schools, St. Thomas Seminary and the University of Hartford.  He retired from the State of CT at Cedarcrest Hospital and CVH after 30 years in 2012.

He is survived by his sisters, Diane Freundlich and her children, Joseph, Susan and Eleanor, Carol Walton and her children, Christopher and his wife Valerie, Stephanie, Barbara and her husband Frank, Janet Pausig and her children, Kelly and her husband Neil, Karen and Kenny; many great nieces and nephews including Benjamin and Ryan who he shared a special bond with; many dear friends; and his Cedarcrest family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 12 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.  Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association – Connecticut, 4 Oxford Rd.
