Joseph M. Piacenta

Joseph Michael Piacenta, 79, of Newington, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 after a brief illness.  He is survived by his loving partner of 37 years, Toni (Giammateo) Snow.

Born on October 1, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph Piacenta and Angeline (Tedesco) Piacenta.  A lifelong resident of Connecticut, he attended Hartford Schools. Joseph was co-owner with his brother, Anthony Piacenta of Quality Carpet Service Co., retiring after 30 years of service.  He later worked at West Hartford Blue Back Square parking garage.  Joseph was a devoted NY Yankees and NY Giants fan.

In addition to his partner Toni, he is survived by a daughter, Anita Piacenta and partner Harry Carr Jr.; a son, Joseph Piacenta III and partner Jane; two sisters, Mary Surdyka and partner Bill Lynn, and Angie Dustin; a sister-in-law, Connie Piacenta; a brother, Lenny Piacenta and partner Diana; his grandchildren, Harry Carr III, Dylan Piacenta, Sydney Snow, and Jack Snow; his great-grandchildren, Olive, Graceful, and Harry Carr IV; and his beloved nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Adeline McGee and Rose Abruzzo, and by a brother, Anthony J. Piacenta

Calling hours are Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 from 4-6 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Masks and social distancing will be required.
