Joseph Martinez

Joseph Martinez, 21, of New Britain, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Bronx, NY, he was a New Britain resident for the past 15 years and was a graduate of New Britain High School. Surviving are his parents, Aida Alicea Galan of New Britain and Antonio Martinez of Bronx, NY; two sisters, Nilda Lebron and Elizabeth Mejia, both of New Britain; a brother, Luis Mejia of New Britain; his grandmothers, Aida Morales of Puerto Rico and Cleotilde Martinez of Bronx, NY; his step-father, Jose Galan; his girl friend, Luz Torres; 3 nephews, Christopher Vega, Jasmin Vega, and Seth Anderson; many uncles including Daniel Martinez and Angel Alicea; many cousins including Stephen Velez stationed in Iraq; many aunts; and many friends in New Britain and New York Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday today from 6-9 PM.
