Joseph Leopold Maher

Joseph Leopold Maher, 33, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 5, 2017. He was the fiancé of Korrin Leslie.

Born in Derby, he was the son of Linda (Raia) Johnson of Waterbury and the late Patrick Maher. Joseph has been a New Britain resident for two years, formerly residing all over the central Connecticut area. He worked as a Carpenter, specializing in flooring. He loved being outside and fishing was one of his favorite things to do. Joe's smile would light up the room and he would have you laughing or listening to a story for hours.

In addition to his mother and his fiancé, Joseph is survived by his son Leopold Anthony Maher, his step daughter Alexa, two grandmothers -  “Rae” and "Grammie", three brothers - Kel Maher of Waterbury, Matthew Johnson of NC, Jon-Michael of Torrington, his godson Casey and niece Etta. Joseph had tons of aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many friends who will all miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 17 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. A memorial service casual get together will be held Saturday, February 18 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at St. Mark's Church, 147 W. Main St, New Britain.
