Joseph Lavender

Joseph Lavender, 94, of New Bern, NC, a former long time Berlin resident and widower of Faith Hanford Lavender, died Jan. 9, 2003. Joe was the former owner of Kensington Printing Co. He retired from Travelers Insurance Printing. He was well know as a support of the Berlin Fair, having helped start the Fair and having worked there for 53 years. He is survived by a daughter, Beth Lavender White of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Robert Lavender of Mass., Rick and Kevin Lavender of CT, Jennifer White of VA, and Shannon White of NC; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his son, Vic Lavender A memorial service will be held on Jan. 19, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Garber United Methodist Church, New Bern, NC. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in West Lane Cemetery, Kensington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kensington United Methodist Church.
