Joseph Bogoslofski, Jr., 62, of Southington, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Hospital of Central CT surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Britain, he was the son of Eleanor (Biskupiak) Bogoslofski of Kensington and the late Joseph J. Bogoslofski. Joseph grew up in New Britain, moved to Berlin and graduated from Berlin High School, where he played football and baseball. He lived in Newington, Southington and Elmira NY at various times in his life. He was formerly employed at Stanley Works and at Reliable Roofing before retiring. He was a member of St. Paul's Church and the Extreme Anglers of New England. Joseph was an avid sports fan and player. He especially enjoyed baseball and football. In addition to his mother Eleanor, he is survived by a daughter, Francine Latham and her husband Douglas Latham, Sr. of Southington; a son, Joseph Bogoslofski III and his wife Paula of Thompson; his former wife, Barbara True of Berlin; a sister Janice Schlegel and her husband Mark of Ellington; five grandchildren, Rebecca Latham, Douglas Latham Jr., Joseph J. Bogoslofski IV, Amanda Bogoslofski, and Lily Bogoslofski; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends, especially his best friend Brent. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Church.
