Jose Guillermo Martinez

Jose Guillermo Martinez, 81, of New Britain, died Monday, April 16, 2007 at Haven Healthcare Center in West Hartford.  Born in Puerto Rico, Jose was a New Britain resident since 1960 and was a member of St. Mary Church.

Surviving are his wife, Maria (Zayas) Martinez; six sons, Joe Martinez II and his wife Joette, Domingo Martinez, Julian Martinez, Jose Antonio Martinez and his wife Barbara, Hector Martinez and his wife Maryann, and Edwin Martinez and his wife Gloria; three daughters, Daisy Martinez, Gladys Martinez, and Evelyn Martinez; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, New Britain.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.  Calling hours are Thursday from 7 – 9 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
