Jose Rivera Jr.

Jose Rivera Jr., 48, of New Britain and Bristol passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital. Born in  Bronx, New York he was the son of Jose Rios and Carmen Rivera.

Jose played high school basketball and baseball but loved his basketball and loved watching football. He was a big NY Giants fan and was a hard Yankees fan. Jose loved painting and drawing. He loved his last job at Friendly's in Waterbury before it closed, where he was proud of being a dishwasher. Jose loved spending time with his daughter and even more when his grandson was born. He enjoyed seeing family and friends and always checked up on his cousins or friends that became like family.

Surviving are his daughter, Anjelica Rivera, his son, Anthony Rivera and his grandson, Kingston Diaz.  Also surviving are his sisters and brother from the Bronx and Michigan; his nephew, Joseph; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins.  He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Rivera.
