Jose Antonio Cortez

Jose Antonio Cortez, 58, of New Britain, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Yauco, Puerto Rico, he was a New Britain resident for 40 years and was a member of the Pentecostal church. He was formerly employed at Metal Custom Finishing. Surviving are his wife Eduarda Figueroa; a daughter, Isabel Cortez; a son Jose Antonio Cortez Jr.; a brother Julio Milagros Ortiz; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visistation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, c/o the funeral home.
