John Robert Drachenberg

John Robert Drachenberg, 95, of New Britain, husband of Thelma Rinas Drachenberg, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late John and Pauline Zielke Drachenberg. John's family lived in Germany during his younger years. He was a New Britain resident most of his life and was formerly employed at Wallace Barnes in Bristol. John was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Schutzen Park, the Varpas Club, St. Stephen's Club and the Amber Club. In addition to his wife Thelma, he is survived by two sons, Robert Drachenberg of New Britain and Thomas Drachenberg and his wife Lois of Plainville; two grandchildren, Amanda Hintz of Bristol and Jacob Drachenberg of Western Australia; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Hintz. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 1-3 PM at the funeral home.
